Crisis Management in IT Services

Computer systems are ubiquitous and it's fair to say that they run

virtually every aspect of our lives by now. When we hear about a

catastrophe or a crisis, we often focus on the "showy" parts of the

story where clips of explosions and fires attract viewers' attention

easily.

Information technology crises are a lot more subtle and have nearly no

visual representations, so the public often keeps a fantasist view of

what they are and how they are managed. In this paper, we shall be

talking about how IT services organisations handle crises and I shall

share with you some key lessons I learned along my 20+ years in the

industry.
